Rekomi for online stores
The store owner's guide to Rekomi on Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce and WooCommerce. Install in minutes, what gets tracked, discount codes, product rates, refunds, store credit rewards, payouts and tax.
Rekomi runs the affiliate program for your store. Install the app for your platform, create a campaign with the commission you want to pay, and every referred order is tracked, every refund is handled, and every affiliate is paid and tax-reported by Rekomi. Nothing to paste, no theme edits, no spreadsheets.
The short version
Shopify, Wix and BigCommerce each have a Rekomi app in their app store; WooCommerce has the Rekomi WordPress plugin. Install, pick a plan (every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, billed through your platform), create a campaign, and tracking is live. Affiliates get a referral link, a personal discount code and product links; you see every referred order; Rekomi pays the affiliates in 130+ countries and files the tax forms as payer of record.
Install in minutes
- Shopify: install Rekomi Affiliate Marketing from the App Store. The app installs its own web pixel and reads each order through Shopify's order webhook, so links track even when the buyer blocks trackers. Guide: Install on Shopify.
- Wix: add Rekomi Affiliate Marketing from the App Market. The app injects click tracking and records each paid store order server-side. Guide: Install on Wix.
- BigCommerce: install Rekomi Affiliate Marketing from the App Marketplace. The app registers your order webhooks and the storefront script for you. Guide: Install on BigCommerce.
- WooCommerce: install the Rekomi plugin and click Connect in wp-admin; orders post server-to-server on every payment method. Guide: Install on WooCommerce.
On Shopify, Wix and BigCommerce the whole program runs inside your store admin: campaigns, the signup page designer, affiliates, referred sales, coupon codes, product links, payouts and billing. The same account also works at app.rekomi.com if you prefer the full dashboard.
What gets tracked
- Referral links. Each affiliate gets a link to your store (or to any product) with their code attached. Clicks are recorded first-party on your storefront.
- Discount codes. Each affiliate can get a personal code, created as a real discount on your platform (a Shopify discount, a Wix coupon, a BigCommerce promotion, a WooCommerce coupon). A redeemed code credits the affiliate even when there was no tracked click, which is how most social and video traffic converts. See Coupons.
- Orders. A paid order is a sale. Commission is computed on the order's goods total before tax and shipping on Wix, BigCommerce and WooCommerce; on Shopify the default basis is the order total, and per-product rates pay on the goods line. Offline payment methods count once you mark the order paid.
- Products. Your catalog syncs into Rekomi so affiliates can link to specific products and you can set per-product commission rates (a higher rate on the products you want pushed, zero on the ones you do not). See Product commissions.
- Customers into affiliates. The Grow page lists your top customers by lifetime spend so you can invite them to become affiliates in one click.
Refunds, cancellations and chargebacks
- A refund reverses the commission. Full or partial, the refunded share of the commission comes back automatically, and the sale only flips to Refunded once refunds cover the whole order. Rekomi reads your platform's own refund events (Shopify refunds/create, Wix refunds, BigCommerce refund webhooks, WooCommerce refund posts), so nothing needs forwarding.
- A refund after the affiliate was already paid. Since October 2026 the refunded share of the paid commission is recovered from that affiliate's next payout automatically. Your Payouts page shows what is owed back under "Owed back from refunds" with the option to write it off; the affiliate sees the same figure on their side. If you would rather pull the money back right away, the paid line can still be reversed on Stripe from the payout's page, and the two never double-count. See Payouts.
- Cancellations. An order cancelled before payment never becomes a sale. An order cancelled after payment is refunded by your platform, and that refund reverses the commission like any other.
- Chargebacks. A lost dispute on your payment processor is not sent to Rekomi as a refund event. Refund the order in your store (so the refund webhook fires), or mark the sale invalid from the Sales page.
- Order edits. An edit that adds to a paid order does not change the commission already recorded; an edit that removes items is a refund in your platform and reverses its share.
- The refund hold. Commissions become payable only after your refund-hold window (30 days by default, adjustable from Instant to 90 days under Settings, Payouts), which is why most refunds land before any money moves.
Store credit instead of cash
Many stores would rather reward affiliates and referring customers with store credit. On Shopify, Wix and BigCommerce a campaign's reward can be store credit instead of a cash commission: the affiliate earns the commission rate you set (or a fixed amount per sale), and Rekomi adds it as store credit on Shopify or BigCommerce, or sends a Wix gift card for the amount. Nobody needs a payout method or a tax form, and a refund takes the credit back. Set it on the campaign under Reward. The details, including the one-time permission approval on Shopify, are in Free month and store credit rewards.
Payouts and tax
For cash commissions, Rekomi pays your affiliates for you. You fund a payout run (or turn on automatic payouts), Rekomi disburses the net to each affiliate in 130+ countries through Stripe Express, bank deposit or PayPal, and charges a flat 3% of the commissions paid. Rekomi (Uplup Inc.) is the payer of record: it collects the W-9 and W-8 forms and files the 1099-NECs, so you never collect a tax form or file one for an affiliate. See Payouts and Tax forms.
Good to know
- Markets and multiple currencies. Orders are recorded in the currency they were paid in; payouts settle in USD at the day's rate, and your dashboard shows each figure in your home currency. See Multi-currency.
- POS and draft orders. A paid order is a paid order: a point-of-sale or draft order credits an affiliate only when it carries their discount code or referral, which is how a real referral reaches it.
- Shopify Collabs can run side by side with Rekomi on the same store. Rekomi adds cross-platform affiliate accounts, tiers, sub-affiliate recruiting, store credit rewards and the creator network on top.
- Billing. Your Rekomi plan is billed through your platform (Shopify Billing, Wix, BigCommerce), on the same invoice as your other apps. WooCommerce stores bill through Rekomi directly.
- Moving from another app? The importer under Settings, Import takes affiliates and sales history from 21 sources, including Shopify Collabs, UpPromote, GoAffPro and Refersion. See Migrations.
