Deals and getting paid

How escrow protects you, when to deliver, and exactly what lands in your account.

Every flat-fee booking on Rekomi runs through escrow: the brand pays up front, Rekomi holds the money, and it is released to you when the work is delivered. You never start work on a promise.

The life of a deal

  1. Terms are agreed. Either a brand sends you an offer (accept or decline within 14 days) or a brand accepts your proposal link. Deals are $50 to $50,000, optionally with a commission tail on tracked sales after the flat fee.
  2. The brand funds the escrow. They pay the full amount (plus a platform fee on their side) by bank transfer. Bank transfers take a few business days to settle; your deal card says "settling" until it lands.
  3. You get the green light. When the money is secured, the deal thread posts "Funds are in escrow with Rekomi. Safe to deliver the work." and you get an email. Until then, hold off; this is the whole point of escrow.
  4. Deliver, then mark it delivered. Do the work, then hit Mark delivered on the deal. The brand is notified to review and release.
  5. You get paid. The brand releases the payment, and it goes out through your payout method like any Rekomi payout. If the brand does nothing, the payment releases automatically 7 days after delivery; we also remind them at day 3. A silent brand can never hold your money.

What lands in your account

Rekomi takes nothing from your side, on any deal. The only deduction is the payment processor's own cost, passed through at cost:

Your payout methodA $1,500 deal pays you
Stripe (bank payout)$1,500 minus $2.25 (once per calendar month) minus 0.25% ($3.75), so $1,494.00
PayPalRekomi sends the full $1,500. PayPal deducts its standard receiving fee (about 2.99% + $0.49) on their side.

PayPal payouts are sent by Rekomi within 1 to 2 business days of release; the deal thread confirms when the money is on its way. The complete schedule, including what the brand pays, is in Fees.

If something goes wrong

  • The brand disputes the delivery: talk it out in the deal's message thread first; most issues are a revision, not a standoff. If you cannot resolve it together, email support@rekomi.com and we will step in. The money stays safely in escrow meanwhile.
  • The brand's funding fails: the deal steps back to Accepted and the brand is told to fix their bank and fund again. Nothing is lost; just wait for the green light before delivering.
  • Your payout fails (payout account issue): the brand sees it and can retry the release once your payout setup is fixed. Check /a/settings under payouts.

Commission tails

A deal can include a commission on tracked sales after the flat fee: a percentage, one-time or recurring for a set number of months. Accepting a deal with a tail automatically sets up your tracking link in the brand's campaign; the tail then earns like any campaign commission and pays out through the normal payout flow.

Requests from brands, proposals you send, and deals moving through escrow, in one place.
