Recurly Affiliate Software: The 6 Options That Actually Work

Search for the best affiliate software for Recurly and you’ll get roundups of ten or fifteen tools, most of which can’t track a Recurly subscription at all. I didn’t want to write another one of those. So I did the boring thing instead: I opened the live site of every affiliate platform people actually ask about and checked one question – does it really support Recurly? Six do, and two of those are enterprise-priced. This article is those six, plus the receipts on everyone I checked.

One thing to know going in: Rekomi goes first on this list and I’m the guy who makes it, so I owe you extra fairness. Its trade-offs get stated just as plainly as everyone else’s, and every price below comes from each vendor’s live pricing page, opened in August 2026.

Six real options, up front:

Rekomi: native Recurly connection, and the only pick that also pays your affiliates in 165+ countries and handles their tax forms. From $29/mo.

FirstPromoter: Recurly is one of its five native billing integrations. From $49/mo.

LeadDyno: veteran tracker with real Recurly webhook docs. From $49/mo.

Then the enterprise lane (PartnerStack and impact.com, both demo-priced) and Tapfiliate, which connects with a Zapier asterisk.

Why the Recurly field is small in the first place

Recurly is subscription management and recurring billing for high-volume digital commerce: it runs your plans, invoices, renewals, and dunning on top of the payment gateway you already use. It’s not a merchant of record, so the money still moves through your own gateway account; the subscription brain lives in Recurly.

That split is what breaks most affiliate tools. A tracker that only reads your payment processor sees charges with no idea which subscription, plan, or referral they belong to, so real tracking has to speak Recurly’s own webhooks. And Recurly ships no affiliate feature of its own: I searched their partner directory and integrations pages, and the word “affiliate” literally appears zero times! Once you’ve picked a tool, my guide to setting up a Recurly affiliate program covers the launch end.

Who I checked, and what their sites say

This is the part most roundups skip, and it saves you the most time. Twelve platforms, each answer taken from their own live pages:

  • Rekomi: native Recurly integration with its own setup flow and docs. Qualifies.
  • FirstPromoter: homepage says “Native integrations with Stripe, Paddle, Recurly, Chargebee and Braintree.” Qualifies.
  • LeadDyno: lists Recurly among its payment integrations, with setup docs for hosted and non-hosted checkout. Qualifies.
  • PartnerStack: publishes a Recurly webhook guide covering payments and refunds. Qualifies.
  • impact.com: has a Recurly integration guide, labeled beta, tracking subscription events only. Qualifies, narrowly.
  • Tapfiliate: has a Recurly doc with a catch we’ll get to. Qualifies with an asterisk.
  • Rewardful: integrations page lists Stripe, Paddle, and a row of Stripe-based platforms. No Recurly.
  • Tolt: “Works with Stripe, Paddle, and Chargebee.” No Recurly.
  • PromoteKit: “Affiliate Software built for Stripe.” No Recurly.
  • Affonso: Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Creem, Dodo Payments. No Recurly.
  • Refgrow: Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar, Dodo. No Recurly.
  • Sled: built Polar-native. No Recurly.

The honest field is six. Here they are, in the order I’d try them.

The best affiliate software for Recurly, tool by tool

Rekomi

Rekomi, the best affiliate software for Recurly, with a native gateway-agnostic integration

Rekomi treats Recurly as a first-class platform, not a webhook it happens to accept. The connection is super short. Here’s how it works: pick your US or EU data region, paste a read-only private API key, and add one webhook in Recurly with Basic Authentication credentials Rekomi generates for you (Recurly doesn’t sign its XML webhooks, so Rekomi authenticates every single delivery instead). From then on, paid invoices book commissions, refunds claw back proportionally, voided payments reverse in full, and every renewal keeps crediting the affiliate who sent the customer – no relay code to write, nothing to host!

Does it really work with Recurly? Yes, natively and gateway-agnostically: Rekomi reads Recurly’s own events, so it doesn’t care whether Stripe, Braintree, or anything else sits underneath. One requirement stated plainly: new-customer attribution rides a rekomi_ref custom field on the subscription, and Recurly custom fields need the Pro or Elite plan (Recurly’s Starter plan doesn’t have them).

Price (from their live site): $29/mo Starter, $49/mo Growth, $99/mo Pro, each with a 14-day free trial, plus a flat 3% of what you actually pay affiliates. A $0-payout month costs $0 in take.

The case for it: it’s the only Recurly option where paying affiliates isn’t your job. Rekomi sends the money in 165+ countries (Stripe Express direct deposits in 42, bank deposits in 60 more, PayPal in 66 more), collects W-9s and W-8s, files 1099-NECs at year end, and affiliates keep 100% of their commission minus only the payout rail’s own pass-through cost. You also get six commission models, per-affiliate custom rates, fraud screening, and importers for 19 other affiliate tools. The honest counterweight: no free plan, and the 3% take is a cost the flat-fee tools here don’t charge. Full mechanics live on the Recurly integration page.

FirstPromoter

FirstPromoter homepage, affiliate management software with native Recurly billing integration

FirstPromoter is the most established subscription-focused affiliate suite in this list, and it names Recurly right on the homepage as one of exactly five native billing integrations.

Does it really work with Recurly? Yes. It’s a native billing integration built around subscription events.

Price (from their live site): Starter $49/mo (up to $5,000/mo in affiliate-driven revenue), Business $99/mo (up to $15,000/mo), Enterprise from $149/mo above that. 14-day trial, no card required.

The case for it: the longest track record among Recurly-native options and a very complete feature set. The tiers are gated by affiliate revenue, so model the tier you’ll be on in a year, not the one you start on.

LeadDyno

LeadDyno integrations page, which lists Recurly among its payment integrations

LeadDyno lists Recurly among its payment integrations and publishes two separate setup guides: one for Recurly-hosted payment pages (a push-notification webhook you point at LeadDyno) and one for non-hosted checkouts.

Does it really work with Recurly? Yes, via Recurly’s push notifications, covering purchases and cancellations for both hosted and custom checkout setups.

Price (from their live site): Lite $49/mo for up to 50 active affiliates, Essential $129/mo (150), Advanced $349/mo (500), Unlimited $749/mo, all with unlimited clicks and conversions and a 30-day trial, the longest here.

The case for it: the pricing scales on affiliate count rather than revenue, which is genuinely nice while your roster is small and earning a lot. Recruit hundreds of tiny affiliates, though, and the same ladder gets steep.

PartnerStack

PartnerStack documentation for its Recurly webhook integration and payment tracking

PartnerStack is the B2B partnerships platform, and its Recurly webhook guide is real engineering documentation: it listens for Recurly’s customer, payment, and refund events and records each payment against the referring partner.

Does it really work with Recurly? Yes. One detail from their own docs: automatic refund processing needs a few extra setup steps arranged with their onboarding team before launch.

Price (from their live site): none published. All three plan tiers end in “Book your demo,” and their FAQ says final pricing is confirmed during the demo. Budget for an enterprise sales cycle.

The case for it: you’re running a serious B2B partner motion with resellers and agencies, and the affiliate program is one lane of it. For a first affiliate program on Recurly, it’s more platform than the job needs.

impact.com

impact.com is the other enterprise partnership platform with a documented Recurly path, and their integration guide is refreshingly specific about its own limits.

Does it really work with Recurly? Yes, with caveats from their own docs: the integration is labeled beta, it tracks subscription events only, and while it can tell a first payment from a renewal, it “cannot differentiate between the recurring events.”

Price (from their live site): not published; impact.com is sales-quoted.

The case for it: you’re already an impact.com customer, or you need its scale of marketplace and brand tooling and can live with a beta integration on the Recurly side.

Tapfiliate

Tapfiliate is the asterisk on the list, and it’s exactly why I wanted a receipts format for this article.

Does it really work with Recurly? Partly. Tapfiliate’s own Recurly doc is a client-side setup: you append an account-code parameter to your Recurly confirmation redirect and fire the conversion with their JavaScript on the thank-you page. First sales track fine. For recurring commissions on renewals, their doc points you to Zapier, so the renewal plumbing is yours to build and babysit.

Price (from their live site): Launch $89/mo ($74/mo billed yearly) with per-1,000 overage fees on clicks and conversions, Scale $179/mo ($149/mo yearly) with lower overages, Enterprise custom. Trials run 7 and 14 days.

The case for it: you already run Tapfiliate across ecommerce and other channels and want one dashboard everywhere. Go in with eyes open about who owns the renewal tracking.

Recurly affiliate tracking: quick answers

Does Recurly have a built-in affiliate program feature?

No. Recurly does subscription billing and revenue management, and its partner directory lists no affiliate tools at all. Running a Recurly affiliate program means adding one of the six platforms above on top of your billing.

Does Rewardful work with Recurly?

No, not as of this writing. Rewardful’s integrations page lists Stripe, Paddle, and a set of Stripe-based platforms, and Recurly isn’t among them. Tolt, PromoteKit, Affonso, Refgrow, and Sled don’t list Recurly either.

How does affiliate tracking work on Recurly?

Through Recurly’s webhook notifications plus a referral carried into the subscription record. The affiliate’s link stamps a referral in the visitor’s browser, your checkout writes it onto the subscription (Rekomi uses a rekomi_ref custom field), and when Recurly fires its paid-invoice events, the affiliate tool matches the referral and records the commission. Renewals fire the same events, which is how recurring commissions keep crediting the original affiliate.

How much does affiliate software for Recurly cost?

The self-serve options run $29/mo to $179/mo to start: Rekomi from $29 (plus 3% of payouts), FirstPromoter and LeadDyno from $49, Tapfiliate from $89. PartnerStack and impact.com don’t publish pricing and are quoted through sales.

Do I need a specific Recurly plan for affiliate tracking?

Sometimes. Tools that attribute through a custom field on the subscription (that’s Rekomi’s method) need Recurly Pro or Elite, because Recurly’s Starter plan doesn’t support custom fields. Client-side setups like Tapfiliate’s don’t have that requirement, with the usual accuracy trade-offs of browser-based tracking.

Run one sandbox sale before you commit

Every self-serve tool here has a trial, and Recurly has sandbox sites, so testing for real is a no-brainer: connect one tool, run a test subscription, force a renewal on a daily-cycle plan, then refund it. A renewal and a refund in sandbox tell you more than fifty review pages! If Rekomi’s shape fits, the Recurly setup guide takes about ten minutes, key to first tracked conversion, and pricing is public. And if one of the other five fits your program better, genuinely, go with it: six real options is a healthier market than the fifteen fake ones the other roundups promise.
