The Affonso alternative
that pays your affiliates for you.
Affonso is a newer affiliate tool built for SaaS billing: it plugs into Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Dodo Payments and Creem (or a custom API), tracks referrals with a pixel and a cookie, and lets you shape commissions with groups, incentives, multi-level rules and even non-cash rewards like credits or free months. It is priced aggressively, from $15 a month, with no transaction fee. The trade is structural: each tier caps the monthly affiliate-driven revenue it may carry, paying affiliates means exporting PayPal, Wise or wire files and disbursing them yourself unless you buy their managed-payouts add-on (USD only, fees on top), and tax-form collection is reserved for the Elite tier. Rekomi is the same job with the operations included: flat published pricing, payouts and tax prep inside the product on every plan, ecommerce as well as SaaS billing, fraud scoring on every click.
When to pick which.
You are a SaaS or ecommerce brand that wants affiliates recruited, tracked against your real billing, screened for fraud, and actually paid, on every plan, without exporting payment files or buying a payouts add-on. Rekomi is $29 to $99 flat plus 3% of payouts, with the payout rail (130+ countries), W-9 collection and 1099-NEC prep included, no cap on the revenue your affiliates may drive, live the same day on a 14-day trial.
You run a small SaaS program, you are happy to pay affiliates yourself from an exported file, and price is the deciding factor: Affonso's $15 Launch tier is the cheapest published entry in the category. Or your program's identity is built on things Rekomi does not model: commissions three recruiting levels deep, rewards paid in product credits, free months or points, or Affonso's built-in affiliate finder credits.

How we keep this honest
Every row reflects real product behavior on the date above. We update this page when either product ships material changes. Nothing here is invented to make Rekomi look better.
Which one fits your situation.
Affiliate platforms are not one-size-fits-all. Here is a straight read on which tool wins for each profile we see.
Small SaaS program where price decides and you pay affiliates yourself
If your affiliates drive under $1,000 a month and your team is happy to export a PayPal or Wise file and pay it, Affonso's Launch tier is the cheapest published entry in the category and does the tracking job well. Full concession.
SaaS brand that wants payouts, tax paperwork and fraud handled on every plan
You want recruit, track, pay, and stay compliant. Rekomi does exactly that for $29-99 flat plus 3% of payouts, with the payout rail, W-9 collection and 1099-NEC prep in the product from Starter, and no cap on the revenue your affiliates may drive. On Affonso the same loop means either running the payment files yourself or buying managed payouts in USD with per-invoice, percentage and per-payout fees on top, and tax forms only on Elite.
Ecommerce brand on Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce or WooCommerce
Affonso has no storefront integration; it is built for SaaS payment providers. Rekomi connects the store itself, reads orders and refunds, maps coupons to native discounts, and pays affiliates from the same product.
Program built on three-level commissions or non-cash rewards
If your economics depend on paying a recruit's recruits down to three levels, or on rewarding affiliates in product credits, free months or points, Affonso models that and Rekomi does not.
Where the modern build pays off.
The pillars below summarise the side-by-side above. We keep the read honest by including the cases where Affonso still wins today.
Our case.
The operations, on every plan, with no revenue meter. Payouts happen inside the product (Stripe Express + bank deposits + PayPal, 130+ countries) instead of exporting bulk files or paying for a USD-only managed add-on; W-9s and the 1099-NEC worksheet are handled on every tier instead of only on Elite; fraud is live IP-reputation scoring on every click instead of rule modes; and no tier caps the revenue your affiliates may generate. Rekomi also covers ecommerce (Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, WooCommerce) alongside SaaS billing, and the switch is one API key: Rekomi's importer reads Affonso's API directly, preserving every tracking id so existing links keep attributing, and bringing leads, clicks, groups, overrides and history with it.
What both ship.
Stripe-native tracking, refund-aware attribution, signed S2S hooks, and standard commission models. Both tools clear the bar on the table-stakes. The differences live in everything built on top of that foundation.
No spin.
Price at the entry and commission expressiveness. Affonso's Launch tier is the cheapest published plan in the category, with no transaction fee when you disburse payouts yourself, unlimited affiliates and programs on every tier, and API access from the start. Its commission model is unusually expressive: groups with per-group incentives, per-affiliate overrides, dynamic first-months-then-lifetime rates, commission caps per customer, pay-per-lead and pay-per-trial, multi-level commissions to three levels, and rewards paid in credits, free months or points. Add an affiliate finder with bundled credits, a marketplace, a 14-language portal, and migrations from FirstPromoter and Tolt.
Our straight answer.
Affonso earns its price. For a small SaaS program whose owner is comfortable paying affiliates from an exported file, $15 a month with no transaction fee is hard to argue with, and its commission model is richer than most. The bill changes shape as the program grows: revenue caps move you up a tier, payouts either cost your team's time or a fee-laden managed add-on, and tax forms wait for Elite. If your program is the normal shape (recruit, track against real billing, pay on schedule, stay compliant), Rekomi does that whole loop in-product from $29, with ecommerce covered too, and the importer means the migration is an afternoon: paste one key, swap the snippet, done.
Common questions.
What does Affonso cost, actually?
Affonso publishes its prices: Launch from $15 a month (annual billing; monthly costs a little more), Growth from $29, Elite from $79, and Enterprise from $149, with a 14-day free trial and no transaction fee, as of our fact-check date. Each tier caps the monthly revenue your affiliates may drive: $1,000 on Launch, $10,000 on Growth, $30,000 on Elite. Managed payouts (Growth and up) add $25 per invoice, a 3.25% surcharge (2.8% via Revolut) and $0.50 per payout beyond the first 25, in USD only. Rekomi is $29, $49, or $99 per month flat plus 3% of payouts, with payouts and tax prep included and no revenue cap on any plan.
How does paying affiliates compare?
On Affonso you export a bulk file (PayPal Mass Payouts, Wise or wire transfer) for the pending payouts, execute it with your own account, and mark the payouts paid; or you buy managed payouts, where Affonso invoices you in USD and pays affiliates by PayPal or wire within 15 business days, with fees on top. On Rekomi the payout rail runs inside the product on every plan: affiliates onboard to Stripe Express, bank deposits or PayPal across 130+ countries, you fund a run and confirm the total, and W-9s are collected during onboarding, all inside the flat 3%.
Does Rekomi support multi-level commissions like Affonso?
One level, deliberately. Rekomi's sub-affiliate recruiting lets an affiliate recruit others and earn an override percentage of each recruit's commissions, which covers the common two-level program. Affonso pays down to three levels; if your economics depend on that depth, it keeps that lane honestly.
Does Rekomi work for ecommerce stores like Affonso does for SaaS?
Both. Rekomi connects SaaS billing (Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem, Dodo, Braintree, Mollie, Gumroad) and the ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, WooCommerce), reading orders, refunds and discount codes from each. Affonso integrates with SaaS payment providers only.
How does migrating from Affonso to Rekomi work?
Through a dedicated importer that reads Affonso's API directly, because Affonso has no self-serve export. Create an API key with read permissions in Affonso under Connect, API, paste it under Settings, Migrate in Rekomi, and one pull brings your roster with every affiliate's tracking id preserved as their Rekomi link code, their PayPal email, sign-up date and country, coupon codes and other payout rails in the notes, their Affonso group as a partner group, an unambiguous per-affiliate override as a custom commission, lifetime click totals, lead and trial referrals, and commission history as locked records. Because via, ref, aff, atp and affonso are all built-in Rekomi attribution params, existing links keep attributing the moment you swap the tracking snippet. The summary tells you what is still owed to affiliates on Affonso's side so you can pay it there before cutover. See /docs/brands/migrations/affonso for the step-by-step guide.
Is Rekomi a serious Affonso alternative?
For the affiliate channel of a SaaS or ecommerce brand, yes: commission tiers, delays, and caps; recurring commissions tied to your real billing objects; coupon attribution; fraud scoring; payouts and tax prep in-product on every plan; a curated network; ecommerce integrations; and the importer. For three-level commission trees, non-cash rewards, and the cheapest possible entry price, no, and this page says so plainly.
Flat plans vs revenue-capped tiers.
Both vendors publish real prices, so this table can put the numbers side by side. The structural difference is what moves the bill: Affonso's tiers cap the revenue your affiliates may drive and charge for payouts as an add-on; Rekomi meters nothing but the payouts themselves.
| The number | Rekomi (published) | Affonso (published) |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | $29/mo, unlimited campaigns, no revenue cap | From $15/mo (annual), up to $1,000/mo of affiliate revenue |
| Mid plan | $49/mo | Growth from $29/mo, up to $10,000/mo of affiliate revenue |
| Upper plan | $99/mo | Elite from $79/mo, up to $30,000/mo; Enterprise from $149/mo above that |
| Fee on payouts | Flat 3% (2.5% Enterprise), payouts + tax prep included | None when you disburse yourself; managed payouts $25/invoice + 3.25% + $0.50 per payout after 25 |
| Tax forms | W-9 + 1099-NEC prep, every plan | W-9 / W-8BEN collection on Elite |
| Trial | 14 days, self-serve | 14 days, self-serve |
Worked example: a brand whose affiliates drive $15K/mo and who pays $3K/mo in commissions runs $139/mo all-in on Rekomi ($49 plan + $90 payout fee), payouts executed and tax paperwork prepped. On Affonso that revenue sits in the Elite tier (from $79/mo), plus either your team's time to run the PayPal or Wise files each month or the managed add-on at $25 per invoice plus 3.25% ($97.50 on $3K) plus per-payout fees. Rich commission rules vs the loop done for you.
The honest framing: Affonso gives you an unusually expressive commission model and leaves the money movement to you; Rekomi automates the money movement on every plan and models the commission shapes most brand programs use.
- Commissions down to three recruiting levels
- Rewards paid in product credits, free months or points
- Dynamic first-months-then-lifetime rates per incentive
- A program small enough that $15/mo and self-run payouts are the right trade
- Affonso's affiliate finder credits and marketplace applications
- Recruiting: curated network, invites, two-step apply
- Tracking against your real billing, SaaS and ecommerce
- Fraud scoring on every click and lead, every plan
- Payouts executed in-product + W-9 / 1099-NEC prep, flat 3%
- No cap on affiliate-driven revenue, ever
Leaving Affonso, one API key.
Affonso has no self-serve export, so Rekomi's importer reads its API directly: paste a read-permission key and one pull brings the program across with every tracking id preserved.
- Create an API key in Affonso under Connect, API, and paste it under Rekomi's Settings, Migrate. It is used once and never stored.
- Each affiliate's tracking id is preserved as their Rekomi link code, and via, ref, aff, atp and affonso are all built-in Rekomi attribution params, so existing links keep attributing the moment the tracking snippet swaps.
- The same pull brings PayPal emails, sign-up dates and countries, groups as partner groups, unambiguous per-affiliate overrides as custom commissions, lifetime click totals, lead and trial referrals, and commission history as locked records; coupon codes and other payout rails land in the notes.
- Honest caveat: commissions still owed on Affonso's side are totalled in the summary for you to pay out there before cutover; incentives paid in credits, free months or points are not money and do not import.
