CRM integration

Turn your existing Kit subscribers into your affiliate cohort.

Rekomi subscribes approved affiliates to a Kit form (Kit's data model is form-centric, not list-centric) and applies numeric tag IDs inline. Your existing course buyers can flip into affiliates and pay you back the difference of what they spent.

How it works

From paste-API-key to first paid affiliate in 10 minutes.

01 / 03
Connect

Paste your ConvertKit (Kit) API key into Rekomi. Rekomi runs a test call to verify the key, then pulls your list/audience picker live from ConvertKit (Kit) so you pick the right destination.

02 / 03
Approve

Affiliates apply via your public landing page or your bulk invite. Approve them manually, auto-approve on a campaign, or import an existing affiliate roster from Rewardful and six other platforms via Settings > Migrate.

03 / 03
Sync

Approved affiliates land in your ConvertKit (Kit) list as tagged subscribers within seconds. Rekomi handles idempotency, retries, and per-campaign overrides; you handle the nurture sequence.

What syncs

The exact ConvertKit (Kit) fields Rekomi writes.

No surprise fields, no overwrites of contact data you already have. Empty values are omitted so existing nurture data is preserved.

  • email, the affiliate email; Kit's subscribe API dedupes natively
  • first_name, split from the affiliate's full name
  • fields.last_name, only sent when the affiliate's name has at least two parts
  • Tags by numeric ID, inline on the subscribe call (Rekomi resolves names to IDs at sync time using Kit's /tags endpoint)
  • Form ID, required by Kit; Rekomi's connect form has a real-time picker against your account
Three use-cases

What ConvertKit (Kit) customers actually do with Rekomi.

Use-case 01

Convert course buyers into affiliates

Build a Kit sequence triggered by 'subscribed to Course Buyers form'. At step 14, send a 'become a course affiliate' email with a Rekomi-hosted accept link. Buyers who accept end up tagged `Rekomi affiliate` AND `course-buyer` in the same Kit profile, both your nurture sequences fire.

Paired commission
Flat 30% RevShare on the course's first sale, 60-day cookie
Use-case 02

Newsletter subscriber to affiliate flywheel

Add a soft 'become an affiliate' CTA at the footer of every Kit broadcast. Subscribers who click + accept land back in Kit with the affiliate tag, and your existing newsletter cadence keeps reaching them. The flywheel: read → buy → affiliate → recommend.

Paired commission
Hybrid: $10 CPS + 15% RevShare ongoing
Use-case 03

Course-bundle launch sequence with affiliate hand-off

Launch a new course to your Kit list. After the launch window, send a 7-day affiliate-recruitment sequence to the buyer cohort. Each buyer who accepts gets a unique tracking link they can share. Course creators earn a second revenue layer without a single new email subscriber.

Paired commission
Tiered RevShare: 20% standard, 35% top 10% of affiliates
Provider-specific handling

Rekomi handles ConvertKit (Kit)'s edge cases so you don't have to.

Every CRM API has quirks. Rekomi's integration code was built and audited against the live ConvertKit (Kit)docs, these are the ones you'd otherwise hit yourself.

API Secret, not API Key

Kit issues two credentials per account: a short `api_key` (read-only) and a longer `api_secret` (write). Rekomi needs the SECRET. The connect form makes the distinction explicit, paste the read-only key and the test call surfaces 'use api_secret instead'.

Form-centric, not list-centric

Kit doesn't have lists; it has forms. A subscriber's relationship to your account is via the form they joined through. Rekomi's connect-flow picker pulls your forms live so you pick the right join point for affiliates.

Numeric tag IDs only on subscribe call

Kit's subscribe endpoint accepts tags by numeric ID inline, not by name. Rekomi resolves tag names to IDs at sync time (cached for the org). If you rename a tag in Kit, Rekomi re-resolves on the next sync.

Who this is for

Built for creators, course sellers, and indie newsletter operators on Kit's Creator or Creator Pro tier. If your audience is your business and Kit is your CRM, Rekomi adds the affiliate revenue layer without you adopting a second messaging stack. Typical pairing: $25-300/month on Kit, $29/month on Rekomi.

FAQ

Common ConvertKit (Kit) questions.

Does ConvertKit (Kit) have an affiliate program?

Kit runs a Creator Partner Program that pays you 30% recurring on Kit referrals, promoting Kit itself. That's separate from running an affiliate program on YOUR course or newsletter. Rekomi is the platform for that, with Kit as the email home for your affiliate cohort.

Can I use Kit for affiliate marketing on my own course?

Yes, Kit handles delivery and segmentation; Rekomi handles tracking links, conversion attribution, commission calculation, and Stripe Connect payouts. Your course buyers who accept the affiliate program get a Kit tag, an automated welcome sequence (via your Kit sequence builder), and a unique tracking link from Rekomi.

Which Kit plan do I need?

Kit's Newsletter tier (free) does not include the API. Creator and Creator Pro tiers ($25+/month) both include API access, and that's the minimum for Rekomi. If you're already running automations + sequences, you're on Creator already.

What's the difference between forms and tags in Kit?

Forms are how subscribers join your account; tags are how you segment them after. Rekomi picks a form (the join point) and applies tags (the segmentation). Common setup: one form 'Affiliate Program Members', plus a Rekomi-system tag and per-campaign tags. Sequences trigger on the form join AND the tag.
