Polar.sh affiliate program software, native today, not on a roadmap.
Polar.sh is the open source Merchant of Record built for developers (the payments company at polar.sh, not the watch brand), and Rekomi supports it natively: paste one Organization Access Token and Rekomi validates it, resolves your organization, and creates the webhook endpoint itself. From then on orders, subscription renewals, refunds, and chargebacks credit and debit the right affiliate automatically, with nothing to configure on Polar's side.
Paste a token, stamp the referral, let order.paid flow.
Create an Organization Access Token in Polar (Organization Settings > Developers) with the three read/webhook scopes and paste it into Rekomi. Rekomi validates it live, resolves your organization, and creates the webhook endpoint itself, subscribed to exactly the order, subscription, and refund events it needs; Polar mints the signing secret and Rekomi stores it encrypted.
Polar hosts the checkout, so the referral travels in the order's metadata. Install the head script, then pass window.Rekomi.getReferral() as metadata.rekomi_ref on API-created checkouts, or append ?reference_id= to plain checkout links with a drop-in snippet; Polar copies it into the order.
order.paid is the single money event: first purchases record once and every renewal accrues recurring commission, on the pre-tax net amount. Refunds and chargebacks, full or partial, claw back proportionally through the same refund pipe, in the same audit trail.
Paste a token. Rekomi builds the webhook itself.
The whole connection hangs off a single pasted token. Rekomi validates it, resolves your organization, and creates the webhook endpoint itself, subscribed to exactly the seven events it needs; disconnecting deletes the endpoint again. Every delivery is verified against the Polar-minted signing secret (standard-webhooks HMAC signatures with a 5-minute replay window) before anything is processed. And because Polar disables endpoints that keep failing, Rekomi's health check detects that state specifically and emails you; a reconnect recreates the endpoint fresh, with a fresh secret, and your history is preserved.
Built for how Polar.sh actually sells.
One money event
Commissions key off order.paid: money that actually moved. Orders that were merely created, pending renewals, and the $0 order a trial produces at signup never book commission, so affiliates are paid on revenue that arrived, not revenue that might.
Signed and replay-proof
Every delivery is verified against the Polar-minted signing secret using standard-webhooks HMAC signatures with a 5-minute replay window; deliveries that fail verification are rejected. The token's scopes are read/webhook-only, so Rekomi never touches products, prices, or payouts.
Pre-tax net commissions
Polar collects tax as Merchant of Record, and that tax was never your revenue, so Rekomi never commissions it. Commission is computed on the net order amount, after discounts and excluding tax, and refunds are measured pre-tax too, so clawbacks stay symmetric.
Chargebacks in the same pipe
Disputes are Polar's to handle as the Merchant of Record, and when one resolves to a refund it reaches Rekomi through the same refund events, so the clawback is automatic. Full or partial, refunds reverse commission proportionally in the same audit trail.
A connection that heals
Polar disables webhook endpoints that keep failing, and Rekomi's health check detects that state specifically; a revoked token is caught the same way. You get an email, and a reconnect recreates the endpoint fresh with a fresh signing secret, history intact.

Common Polar questions.
Is the Polar integration native?
Yes, and it is a one-paste connect: you paste one Organization Access Token, and Rekomi validates it, resolves your organization, and creates the webhook endpoint in Polar itself, subscribed to exactly the events it needs. Disconnecting deletes the endpoint again. Orders, subscription renewals, refunds, and chargebacks are all recorded automatically, with no relay code to write and no manual webhook configuration on Polar's side.
Polar as in the watch brand?
No. This page is about Polar.sh, the open source Merchant of Record developers use to sell software, SaaS, and digital products: Polar hosts the checkout, collects payment and tax, and remits to you. It has no relation to Polar the sports-watch company. If you sell through polar.sh checkout links or its API, this is your integration.
Almost no affiliate platform supports Polar. Why does Rekomi?
Polar is newer than the billing platforms most affiliate tools grew up on, and Polar itself deliberately ships no built-in affiliate program; partner integrations are its sanctioned path. Most established affiliate platforms have not added it, so anyone comparing affiliate software for Polar finds a short list. Rekomi supports Polar natively today, and goes further than a checkbox: the connection creates and removes the webhook endpoint programmatically, commissions key off order.paid (money that actually moved, not orders that were merely created), and refunds claw back per-refund.
How do affiliates get credited when Polar hosts the checkout?
The referral travels in the order's metadata. The Rekomi head script captures the affiliate click in a first-party cookie; API-created checkouts pass window.Rekomi.getReferral() as metadata.rekomi_ref (the canonical key), and plain Polar checkout links get ?reference_id= appended with a drop-in snippet, which Polar copies into the order's metadata. Rekomi reads rekomi_ref first, then reference_id, and a reference_id that matches no affiliate is simply ignored.
Why is commission calculated on the pre-tax net amount?
Because tax is not your revenue. Polar is the Merchant of Record: it collects and remits sales tax and VAT itself, so the tax portion of a charge never belongs to you, and paying commission on it would overpay every affiliate on every sale in taxed jurisdictions. Rekomi commissions the net order amount, after discounts and excluding tax, and refunds are measured pre-tax too, so clawbacks stay symmetric with the original commission. Trials produce a $0 order at trial start; Rekomi skips it and records the real first charge when it arrives.
Are renewals, refunds, and chargebacks handled?
Yes. order.paid is the single money event: a first purchase records a one-time conversion and every subscription renewal records a recurring one, so revshare keeps accruing for the life of the subscription. Refunds, full or partial, claw commission back proportionally in the same audit trail, and because Polar handles disputes as the Merchant of Record, chargebacks reach Rekomi through the same refund pipe and claw back automatically too. Pending refunds are not clawed back until they succeed.
What if the token is revoked or Polar disables the webhook?
Two failure modes, both watched. If the token is revoked, the health check flags the connection, shows a reconnect banner, and emails you; pasting a fresh token restores it with history intact (pick "No expiration" when creating the token and it never lapses on a timer). If Polar disables the endpoint after repeated delivery failures, the health check detects that state specifically; re-enable it in Polar or simply reconnect, which recreates the endpoint fresh with a fresh Polar-minted signing secret.
Does it know about Polar's sandbox?
Yes, the connection is environment-aware. Polar's sandbox (sandbox.polar.sh) is a separate universe with its own accounts and tokens, and Rekomi keeps the two apart: a sandbox token pasted where a production token is expected is rejected with a clear error instead of a silent tracking failure, and the connection records which environment it belongs to end to end.
Can I run Polar alongside another billing connection?
No; Rekomi enforces one conversion source of truth per workspace so the same sale is never recorded twice. Pick one rail for Polar sales and keep it; if you genuinely sell on two platforms, run them as separate workspaces.
