The modern Tolt alternative
for subscription businesses.
Tolt is one of the newer Stripe and Paddle native affiliate tools for SaaS, and it is genuinely well built: a slick portal, a flexible commission Flows engine, and a 15-minute setup story. This is not an incumbent-vs-modern page; both products are modern. The real differences are pricing shape (Rekomi is flat from $19/mo; Tolt gates tiers by monthly affiliate revenue from $69/mo), what happens at payout time, and how much program depth you can reach before hitting a ceiling. If you are weighing Tolt alternatives, or Tolt against Rekomi directly, this is the honest read.
When to pick which.
You want per-click and per-lead campaigns with real-time fraud scoring, not just per-sale. You want done-for-you payouts on every plan, including the cheapest one, via Stripe Express and PayPal with US 1099-NEC prep handled at year end. You want flat pricing that does not step up as your affiliate revenue grows. You want an AI co-pilot, a curated affiliate network, and native coverage beyond Stripe and Paddle: Braintree, Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee, Polar, Shopify, and more.
You are already on Tolt, your program is per-sale only, your affiliate revenue sits comfortably under your tier's cap, and you like paying affiliates yourself via a Wise or PayPal batch CSV. Tolt's Flows engine handles tiered and time-decaying rates well, and its 2% auto-payout processing fee on Growth undercuts Rekomi's 3% platform fee if you are comparing payout fees alone.

How we keep this honest
Every row reflects real product behavior on the date above. We update this page when either product ships material changes. Nothing here is invented to make Rekomi look better.
Which one fits your situation.
Affiliate platforms are not one-size-fits-all. Here is a straight read on which tool wins for each profile we see.
Bootstrapped SaaS starting an affiliate program from zero
Rekomi's Starter is $19/mo with payouts, tax paperwork, and fraud scoring included; Tolt's entry tier is $69/mo and leaves payouts to you. At the stage where every fixed cost matters, the modern-tool experience is comparable and the price and payout story are not.
SaaS whose affiliate revenue is scaling past $20K/mo
On Tolt that growth walks you from $99 to $199 to Enterprise as you cross revenue caps. Rekomi plans are flat with no overage fees: Growth at $39 (guided to around $15K/mo in payout volume) and Pro at $99 with unlimited volume, plus the 3% fee only on what you actually pay out.
Solo founder who wants to pay affiliates by Wise or PayPal batch CSV themselves
Tolt's manual payout flow is genuinely built for this: export the monthly CSV, run a Wise batch, mark paid. Rekomi is built around its managed payout rail; if you specifically want hands-on manual payouts as your permanent workflow, Tolt fits that shape better.
Program that needs CPC or CPL campaigns, or has had fraud problems
Per-click and per-lead bounties only work with real fraud defense. Rekomi scores every click and lead against live IP reputation (proxy, VPN, datacenter, bot) and quarantines what fails before money moves. Tolt documents no CPC or CPL campaigns and no IP-reputation scoring.
Where the modern build pays off.
The pillars below summarise the side-by-side above. We keep the read honest by including the cases where Tolt still wins today.
Our case.
Rekomi is deeper in the places programs grow into. Campaign types Tolt does not document: per-click and per-lead with real-time IP-reputation fraud scoring. A payout rail on every plan, not just from $99: Stripe Express plus PayPal, W-9/W-8 collection and year-end 1099-NEC prep, automatic schedules. Flat pricing from $19/mo that never steps up with affiliate revenue. Broader native billing coverage including Lemon Squeezy, Braintree, Chargebee, Polar, and Shopify. And the AI story goes past an MCP server: the co-pilot lives in the dashboard, surfacing affiliate candidates from your customers and drafting outreach.
What both ship.
Stripe-native tracking, refund-aware attribution, signed S2S hooks, and standard commission models. Both tools clear the bar on the table-stakes. The differences live in everything built on top of that foundation.
No spin.
Tolt is a genuinely good product with real momentum: the portal is polished, setup is fast, the Flows engine handles tiered, time-decaying, and per-partner rates elegantly, and unlimited affiliates on every tier is a friendly touch. Custom portal domains come with the cheapest plan. If you compare payout processing fees in isolation, Tolt's 2% on Growth undercuts Rekomi's 3%. For a per-sale Stripe or Paddle program run by someone happy to stay under the revenue caps, Tolt is a credible modern choice.
Our straight answer.
Both tools are modern, and if you told us your program was simple, per-sale, under $10K/mo in affiliate revenue, and you enjoyed running payout batches yourself, we would tell you Tolt will treat you fine. The honest structural differences are pricing shape and ceilings: Rekomi costs less at entry ($19 vs $69), stays flat while Tolt's revenue caps march you up tiers, runs payouts and tax on every plan, and ships campaign types and fraud tooling Tolt does not document having. If you are choosing fresh, or your program is starting to press against a Tolt cap, Rekomi is the better long-term home, and the importer moves your program over in minutes with existing ?aff= links preserved.
Common questions.
Is Rekomi cheaper than Tolt?
At entry, clearly: Rekomi Starter is $19/mo vs Tolt Basic at $69/mo, and Rekomi's Growth at $39/mo compares with Tolt Growth at $99/mo. Structure matters more over time: Tolt tiers cap monthly affiliate-generated revenue ($10K/$20K/$50K), so a growing program climbs to $199 and then Enterprise, while Rekomi plans are flat at any revenue. On payout fees, Tolt charges 2% processing plus funding fees ($8 per bank transfer or 5% by card) on Growth and up; Rekomi charges a flat 3% (2.5% Enterprise) with payouts included on every plan.
Tolt advertises 0% commission. What does that mean?
It means Tolt does not take a percentage cut of your affiliate-driven revenue, and that is true. It is separate from payout costs: Tolt's auto payouts (Growth and up) carry a 2% processing fee plus funding fees, and affiliates pay 0-2% on their side depending on method. Rekomi's model is a flat 3% platform fee on affiliate payouts (2.5% Enterprise), also with no cut of your revenue. Compare total cost at your volume rather than headline percentages.
Does Tolt run affiliate payouts for you?
On Growth ($99/mo) and above, yes: Tolt invoices you monthly around the 15th, you fund it by bank, card, Wise, or PayPal, and Tolt pays affiliates in 150+ countries, with W-9/W-8 collection and 1099 filing handled. On Basic ($69/mo) payouts are manual: you export a CSV and pay affiliates yourself. Rekomi runs payouts on every plan, including Starter, via Stripe Express and PayPal, with US 1099-NEC prep handled at year end.
What is the difference between Tolt Flows and Rekomi's commission engine?
They overlap on per-sale logic: both do tiered rates, time-based changes, per-affiliate overrides, and one-time vs recurring. Tolt's Flows are a genuinely flexible condition builder within per-sale commissions. Rekomi's engine additionally covers campaign types Flows does not reach: per-click and per-lead bounties with fraud scoring, hard per-sale caps, attribution stickiness windows, and sub-affiliate overrides on Pro.
Migration from Tolt to Rekomi?
Fully self-serve and API-based, because Tolt's dashboard has no partners or roster CSV export (the only dashboard CSV is the payout file). Paste your Tolt API key (Settings → API) in Rekomi's Settings → Migrate; one pull imports partners with their link slugs and click counts, leads, and commission history. Tolt stores referral codes on its Links resource, so each partner's first link slug is preserved whenever the code is a valid, unclaimed slug, and existing ?aff= links keep attributing on Rekomi out of the box. Tolt does not expose which commissions were paid, so history imports as settled records. See /docs/brands/migrations/tolt.
Will my Tolt partners have to change their links?
Usually no. The API pull preserves each partner's referral slug, and Rekomi recognizes ?aff= natively as one of its 17 default attribution parameters. If a partner has multiple Tolt links, their first link's slug becomes the Rekomi slug and the others stop attributing; the import summary lists those cases so you can tell affected partners.
Does Tolt have an affiliate marketplace like Rekomi's network?
We could find no affiliate marketplace or partner-discovery network anywhere in Tolt's product or docs; recruiting is entirely on you. Rekomi includes a curated private network focused on subscription businesses, so new programs start with vetted affiliate candidates rather than an empty roster.
What does Tolt do better today?
A few honest wins: custom portal domains on its cheapest tier (Rekomi gates custom domains to Growth), unlimited affiliates on every tier, a lower headline payout processing fee (2% vs 3%, before funding fees), and a polished manual-payout CSV flow if you prefer paying affiliates yourself. If those are your deciding factors, Tolt is the right pick and we would rather you know that now.
Flat rate vs revenue caps, at four sizes.
Tolt tiers gate on monthly affiliate-generated revenue; Rekomi plans are flat. Here is the monthly software cost at four program sizes, using each vendor's published tiers (payout fees excluded on both sides).
| Affiliate revenue / mo | Tolt tier | Tolt price | Rekomi plan | Rekomi price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | Basic (manual payouts) | $69/mo | Starter | $19/mo |
| $15,000 | Growth | $99/mo | Growth | $39/mo |
| $40,000 | Pro | $199/mo | Pro | $99/mo |
| $80,000 | Enterprise (custom) | Custom | Pro | $99/mo |
Tolt caps per its published tiers: $10K/mo affiliate revenue on Basic, $20K on Growth, $50K on Pro. Rekomi tiers carry soft payout-volume guides (Starter ~$2.5K/mo, Growth ~$15K/mo, Pro unlimited) with no overage fees ever; plan choice otherwise depends on features (custom domain and embeddable dashboard on Growth, white-label and sub-affiliates on Pro). Payout fees compared separately in the table above.
What programs outgrow, in order.
Most affiliate programs climb the same ladder. Both tools handle the first rungs; the question is where each one stops.
Switching from Tolt, step by step.
Tolt's dashboard has no partners or roster CSV export, so the Rekomi importer pulls everything through Tolt's API in one pass: partners with link slugs and click counts, leads, and commission history.
- Paste your Tolt API key (Tolt Settings → API) into Rekomi's Settings → Migrate. Used once, never stored.
- Slugs preserved automatically: Tolt keeps referral codes on its Links resource, and each partner's first link slug becomes their Rekomi slug whenever the code is a valid, unclaimed slug, so existing ?aff= links keep attributing.
- Lifetime click counts and leads carry over with the roster.
- Tolt does not expose which commissions were paid, so history imports as settled records; nothing retro-credits balances without your explicit authorization.
