Picking the best affiliate software for Paddle is a different job than picking one for the younger merchant-of-record platforms. On Polar or Dodo you get three or four options and the list picks itself. Paddle’s been around long enough that real choice exists: I count six tools with a legitimate Paddle connection, plus a couple of edge cases. That’s genuinely good news for you, and it changes the job: the question stops being “who supports Paddle” and becomes “who wins on the things I care about.”
One thing you should know before trusting my ranking: I built one of the tools below (Rekomi), so of course I have a favorite. That’s exactly why Rewardful and FirstPromoter get proper credit here; they’re mature, well-built tools. Every price below comes off each vendor’s live pricing page, pulled fresh as I wrote this (August 2026); where something is a vendor’s own marketing claim, I say so.
My shortlist, one line each:
Rekomi: the only Paddle option where payouts and tax forms are handled at every tier, from $29/mo + 3% of payouts.
Rewardful: the best-known name in SaaS affiliate tracking, built on Stripe and Paddle, from $49/mo.
Affonso: the cheapest credible entry point at $15/mo on yearly billing, with revenue-capped tiers.
Why Paddle needs an affiliate layer at all
Paddle is a merchant of record for SaaS and digital products: it runs your checkout, becomes the legal seller, and handles global tax, compliance, and billing across 300+ markets for 5% + 50¢ per transaction. What it doesn’t ship is an affiliate feature. There’s no program builder, no tracking links, no commission ledger anywhere in the dashboard, and the long list of services inside Paddle’s fee doesn’t mention affiliates once.
So a Paddle affiliate program is always Paddle plus a dedicated tool on top. Happily, Paddle’s architecture makes that clean: the affiliate software stamps a referral into the checkout’s customData, listens to Paddle’s webhooks (like transaction.completed), and credits the right affiliate when money actually lands, renewals and refunds included. I wrote the full build walkthrough separately: how to set up a Paddle affiliate program.
But that brings up the real question: when six tools all say “Paddle” on the tin, how do you actually pick? You score them, and I’d score them on exactly five things.
How to score the best affiliate software for Paddle
Before any tool gets named, here’s the scorecard I’d hold every candidate against. Five criteria, roughly in order of how expensive it is to get them wrong:
- 1. What the commission is calculated on. Paddle is a merchant of record, so every charge has VAT or sales tax baked inside it. A tool that commissions the gross charge is quietly paying your affiliates a cut of tax money you never kept (20%+ in much of Europe). Ask each vendor directly: pre-tax or gross?
- 2. Who sends the money, and who does the paperwork. Tracking a commission and paying it are very different jobs. Some tools keep a ledger and hand you a CSV; some automate transfers from your own PayPal or Wise; a few are the payer themselves, W-9s and 1099s included. This question separates the six tools more than any feature list.
- 3. The price shape, modeled a year out. The field spans flat monthly, revenue-capped tiers that step up as you grow, and subscription plus a take rate. Each shape wins at a different program size, so run your year-two numbers, not your month-one numbers.
- 4. Refund and chargeback behavior. Paddle reports both as adjustments. A careful integration reverses commission proportionally when one lands (partial refunds included); a sloppy one leaves you paying commission on money that went back out the door.
- 5. Recurring commissions with real controls. Most Paddle products are subscriptions, so month-7 renewals should still credit the affiliate from month 1, and you want a say in how long that lasts (first payment only, N months, or lifetime).
Keep those five in your head (or literally score each tool 1-5 as you read) and the crowded field sorts itself fast. Here’s everyone.
The six tools that actually speak Paddle
Rekomi: the done-for-you money pick

The pitch: Rekomi treats the money side as part of the product, not an exercise left to you. It tracks the program and it pays your affiliates in 165+ countries (Stripe Express direct deposits in 42, bank deposits in 60 more, PayPal in 66 more), collecting W-9s and W-8s and filing 1099-NECs at year end. Affiliates keep 100% of their commissions; the only deduction is the payout rail’s own cost, passed through at no margin.
The Paddle connection is webhook-native, and here’s how it works: you copy your unique webhook URL from Rekomi, create a Paddle notification destination pointing at it, paste the signing secret back (stored encrypted), pass the referral through checkout customData as rekomi_ref, and you’re tracking! From then on transaction.completed books sales, subscription events track the lifecycle, and Paddle adjustments reverse commissions on refunds and chargebacks proportionally (partial refunds reverse partially, in the same audit trail). Full detail on the Paddle integration page.
Verified pricing: $29/mo Starter, $49/mo Growth, $99/mo Pro, each with a 14-day trial, plus a flat 3% of affiliate payouts. The 3% only exists when affiliates actually get paid, so a slow month costs you the base fee and nothing else.
Where it wins: criteria 1 and 2 on the scorecard. Commissions on Paddle are computed on the pre-tax amount: on a €120 charge carrying €20 of VAT, a 25% affiliate earns 25% of €100, not of €120. And the payout-plus-paperwork loop closes at every tier, not just an upper plan. You also get the full program toolkit: six commission models (revenue share, CPS, CPA, CPL, CPC, hybrid), per-affiliate custom rates, multiple campaigns with their own payout thresholds and country rules, fraud screening, 21 migration importers, and branded signup pages for recruiting.
Where it falls short: there’s no free plan, and the 3% take is a real cost the flat-price tools don’t charge. Also, per-affiliate coupon-code attribution (crediting an affiliate when their discount code is used with no link click) is a Stripe-family feature in Rekomi; on Paddle, attribution rides tracking links and checkout metadata only. If coupon codes are the heart of your program, weigh that honestly.
Rewardful: the incumbent Paddle was built into

The pitch: Rewardful is probably the first name you heard in SaaS affiliate tracking, and Paddle is one of its two first-class platforms: their own tagline is “instantly setup affiliate and referral programs with Stripe & Paddle.” Connect your account, configure commissions, invite affiliates. It’s a polished, proven flow that thousands of SaaS companies have run for years, and that maturity is worth real money when you just want the thing to work.
Verified pricing: $49/mo Starter (up to $7,500/mo in affiliate-generated revenue, 1 campaign), $99/mo Growth (up to $15,000/mo, unlimited campaigns, branded portal), Enterprise from $149/mo above that. 14-day trial, two months free on annual, and 0% transaction fees on the tracking itself.
Where it wins: depth of the Paddle-native experience and the ecosystem around it (docs, integrations, a decade of edge cases already found). Their newer Managed Payouts service also closes the historical payout gap: you fund one invoice, affiliates withdraw via bank transfer, SEPA, wire, PayPal, or check, and Rewardful handles tax documentation and identity verification during onboarding, for a 3% processing fee on payouts.
Where it falls short: price shape. The revenue caps step you up as the program grows, and Managed Payouts is an opt-in add-on with its own 3% rather than something baked into every plan. Do the two-fee math (subscription + payout fee) at your expected volume before assuming the sticker price is the price.
FirstPromoter: the five-processor veteran

The pitch: FirstPromoter connects to Stripe, Paddle, Recurly, Chargebee, or Braintree (“takes minutes, not days,” per their homepage), which makes it the pick if Paddle is one of several billing systems you run. It’s a complete suite: campaigns, tiered commissions, a partner portal, and one-action payments to all partners via Stripe, PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer, with fully managed payouts available and W-9/W-8BEN generation built in.
Verified pricing: $49/mo Starter (up to $5,000/mo revenue from affiliates, 1,000 affiliates, 3 campaigns), $99/mo Business (up to $15,000/mo, unlimited), Enterprise from $149/mo. 14-day trial, no card required.
Where it wins: billing-platform breadth (five processors, deepest in the field). If you’re mid-migration between processors, running FirstPromoter across both sides is a smart play.
Where it falls short: the Starter cap. $5,000/mo of affiliate-driven revenue is the tightest entry cap here, so a healthy program hits the $99 tier fast. Tax forms sit on Business and up, and the cost of the fully managed payout service isn’t published on the pricing page, so get that number in writing before you budget around it.
Halftime: all six on one table
Three down, three to go. Here’s the whole field side by side while the incumbents are fresh in your head (entry-tier prices from each vendor’s live page, August 2026):
| Tool | Entry price | Price shape | Who pays your affiliates | Tax forms |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rekomi | $29/mo + 3% of payouts | Flat plans + take rate on payouts | Rekomi, automatically, 165+ countries | W-9/W-8 collected, 1099-NECs filed, every tier |
| Rewardful | $49/mo | Revenue-capped tiers | You, or Managed Payouts (3% fee) | Handled inside Managed Payouts |
| FirstPromoter | $49/mo | Revenue-capped tiers | You (one-action batches); managed option exists | W-9/W-8BEN on Business tier and up |
| Tolt | $69/mo | Revenue-capped tiers | You on Basic; auto payouts (2% fee) from Growth | W-9/W-8 + 1099 filing on Growth and Pro |
| Affonso | $15/mo (yearly billing) | Revenue-capped tiers | You on Launch; managed payouts on higher tiers | W-8/W-9 collection included |
| Refgrow | $29/mo | Flat, no revenue caps | You, via bulk PayPal/Wise from your accounts | Your job |
Tolt: payouts and 1099s on the bigger tiers

The pitch: Tolt is a modern partner-program platform that integrates with Stripe and Paddle and leans hard into the operational side: auto payouts through PayPal, Wise, local bank, crypto, and wire, and on its Growth and Pro tiers it collects W-9/W-8 forms and files 1099s for you. Credit where due – besides Rekomi, it’s the only tool in this field that puts 1099 filing on the pricing page at all.
Verified pricing: $69/mo Basic (up to $10,000/mo earned from affiliates, manual payouts only), $99/mo Growth (up to $20,000/mo, auto payouts with a 2% processing fee, tax forms), $199/mo Pro (up to $50,000/mo), Enterprise above that. 14-day trial, no card, and a 30-day refund policy.
Where it wins: the Growth tier is a genuinely complete package: tracking, auto payouts, and US tax paperwork in one $99 bill. Generous caps too: $20,000/mo of affiliate revenue on Growth is roomier than Rewardful’s or FirstPromoter’s equivalent tiers.
Where it falls short: the entry price. $69/mo is the highest starting point in the field, and the Basic tier is manual-payouts-only, so the plan most founders would actually want is the $99 one. If you’re small, you’re paying mid-market prices from day one.
Affonso: the budget door into the field

The pitch: Affonso is a European SaaS affiliate platform whose built-in integrations cover Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Creem, and Dodo Payments, and it owns the lowest entry price here. The suite is real, not a stub: flexible commission rules, affiliate groups, coupon and link tracking, fraud detection, W-8/W-9 collection, and managed payouts on the higher tiers (Affonso pays your affiliates via bank wire or PayPal, in 190+ currencies by their count).
Verified pricing: Launch $15/mo on yearly billing (up to $1,000/mo revenue from affiliates), Growth $29/mo yearly or $39 monthly (up to $10,000/mo), Elite $79/mo yearly or $99 monthly (up to $30,000/mo), Enterprise beyond. 14-day trial, no transaction fees. One heads-up: they’ve moved prices around this year (Launch was $19 earlier in 2026), so glance at the live page before you commit.
Where it wins: cost of entry, full stop. $15/mo gets a real Paddle affiliate program with unlimited affiliates, and the tier ladder means your bill only steps up when affiliate revenue actually shows up.
Where it falls short: that same ladder. The $1,000/mo Launch cap is tiny (one good affiliate clears it), the headline prices assume yearly billing, and managed payouts don’t exist on the entry tier. Model the tier you’ll be on in a year, not the one on the badge.
Refgrow: flat price, embedded in your app

The pitch: Refgrow connects to Paddle via webhooks (alongside Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, and Dodo) and does one thing nobody else here does: the entire affiliate dashboard embeds inside your own product through a script tag, so your users become affiliates without ever visiting a third-party portal. It maintains a dedicated Paddle page with automatic tracking for subscriptions, one-time payments, and upgrades.
Verified pricing: from $29/mo with 0% transaction fees, unlimited affiliates, and no revenue caps of any kind. 14-day full-feature trial, no card required.
Where it wins: predictability and product feel. It’s the only flat-no-caps price in the field, so a breakout month never moves your software bill, and the embedded dashboard is a super clever retention loop for developer-audience products.
Where it falls short: the money side stays yours. Bulk payouts run through your own PayPal or Wise accounts (or manually), and tax forms aren’t part of the offer; the compliance features are EU-flavored (self-billing invoices, VAT) rather than US 1099 territory. The embedded model also assumes you have an app and a little frontend comfort.
The edge cases: Partnero and Sled
Two more names come up in Paddle searches, and both are partial fits. Partnero lists Paddle integrations for both Billing and Classic overlay checkouts; it starts at $59/mo ($49 on annual, 30-day trial), and payouts are free self-managed through your own PayPal or Wise but cost 7% when Partnero manages them (the steepest payout fee in this article). Sled, the $19/mo Polar-native micro-tool, reaches Paddle only through its generic webhook (“for any provider that can POST JSON,” per their docs), so you’re wiring events yourself. Neither makes my top six, but if you already run one of them elsewhere, they can stretch.
Named winners, by scenario
I went back and forth on ranking a field this size and eventually gave up on a single order, because the honest answer depends on which scorecard criterion you weight most. So, winners by scenario instead:
- Most complete money handling: Rekomi. Payouts in 165+ countries, tax forms, and pre-tax commissions at every price tier. It’s the only tool here where “who pays the affiliates” is never you.
- Cheapest way in: Affonso at $15/mo on yearly billing, as long as your affiliate revenue fits the $1,000/mo Launch cap while you prove the channel.
- The safe incumbent: Rewardful. Most miles on the odometer, deepest Paddle history, and Managed Payouts (3%) when you’re ready to hand off the transfers.
- Multiple billing systems: FirstPromoter, with five processors under one roof.
- Payouts + 1099s on a bigger budget: Tolt’s $99 Growth tier bundles auto payouts and US tax filing with generous caps.
- Flat bill forever: Refgrow. $29/mo with no caps and no percentages, if you’re fine running the payout side yourself.
One flag for all six: run a sandbox refund before you invite a single affiliate. Refund and chargeback handling is where Paddle integrations differ most, and five minutes of testing prevents a very awkward commission dispute later.
Paddle affiliate tracking: the questions that decide it
Does Paddle have a native affiliate program feature?
No. Paddle’s platform covers checkout, billing, tax, and compliance, but there’s no built-in affiliate or referral feature, and nothing on their site suggests one is coming. Every Paddle affiliate program runs on dedicated software connected through webhooks and checkout metadata, which is exactly what the six tools above do.
How do you set up an affiliate and referral program with Paddle?
Three pieces, whatever tool you choose: a tracking script that captures the affiliate’s referral when a visitor lands, that referral passed into Paddle Checkout’s customData, and a webhook connection so the tool hears transaction.completed and the adjustment events. Once those are wired, sales credit affiliates automatically, renewals keep crediting the original referrer, and refunds reverse on their own. Most tools get you there in under an hour, and I walk the whole chain field by field in Paddle affiliate tracking: how attribution works.
Do I need a developer to connect Paddle affiliate software?
Barely. The webhook and signing-secret steps are copy-paste inside the two dashboards; the one technical moment is passing the referral into your checkout’s customData, a one-line change wherever you open Paddle Checkout. If someone on your team can edit the checkout call, you don’t need to hire anyone.
Who actually sends affiliates their money on a Paddle program?
With most tools, you do: Refgrow batches payments from your own PayPal or Wise, FirstPromoter fires one-action batches from your accounts, and Tolt automates transfers for a 2% fee from its Growth tier. The hands-off options are Rekomi (payer of record at every tier, tax forms included) and Rewardful’s Managed Payouts add-on. Decide this before you pick a tool, not after your first payout run eats an afternoon.
Is Paddle’s 5% + 50¢ fee still charged on affiliate-referred sales?
Yes. Paddle’s fee applies to every checkout it processes regardless of where the buyer came from, so a referred sale carries Paddle’s fee plus the commission you owe. At 5% + 50¢ to Paddle and, say, 25% to the affiliate, roughly 30% of that sale is spoken for before it reaches you.
Can I switch Paddle affiliate tools later without losing my program?
Yes, mostly. Affiliates, links, and go-forward commissions migrate cleanly (Rekomi ships importers for 21 platforms, Rewardful and FirstPromoter included); historical referral records generally stay behind, so export them for your books. All six tools track through the same Paddle webhooks, so the switch is a re-wire, not a rebuild.
One trial, one test sale
Here’s the move I’d make this week: pick your scenario winner, start its trial, and push one sandbox transaction and one sandbox refund through Paddle before the trial’s first day is over. That single loop tells you more than any comparison article can, mine included! If the done-for-you money side is what sold you, Rekomi’s Paddle setup guide runs about ten minutes end to end and the pricing is public. And if one of the other five fits your shape better, go with my blessing – a Paddle program on any of these tools beats no program on the perfect one.
