First, Creem itself in 60 seconds
Creem is a merchant of record built for SaaS and AI startups: hosted checkout, subscriptions, license keys, and a customer portal, with Creem acting as the legal seller so global VAT and sales tax are calculated, collected, and remitted for you. Pricing is one flat rate: 3.9% + 40¢ per successful transaction, with no monthly fee, no setup fee, and no hidden charges. That flat-rate simplicity is a big part of why indie founders and vibe-coded products keep landing here.
The catch for affiliate marketing is the same as on every merchant of record: your customers pay Creem, not your Stripe account, so the classic Stripe-watching affiliate tools (Rewardful, Tolt, PromoteKit, FirstPromoter) have nothing to observe here, and none of them lists Creem support as of this writing. The bottom line on Rekomi: the most complete option, and the only one where tax paperwork disappears entirely. The trade-offs: no free plan, and the 3% take is a real cost the free hub doesn’t have. One nice detail: Creem reserves creem_ref for its built-in hub and Rekomi reads rekomi_ref, so the two can literally run side by side while you migrate.
Option 2: Creem’s built-in Affiliate Hub
Creem’s Affiliate Hub lives under Growth in your Creem dashboard. You create a program, set a commission rate, and invite partners; affiliates get their own portal at affiliates.creem.io with referral links, real-time earnings, and payout requests. Attribution is automatic, and payouts come with built-in KYC verification and multiple methods including bank transfer and crypto. Creem handles the compliance side of paying people, which is a genuinely big deal for a free feature.
Where it ends today, per Creem’s own docs: managing individual partners isn’t supported yet. That means no per-affiliate commission rates, no per-affiliate product restrictions, and no deleting a pending invitation; one program-wide rate applies to everyone.
