Every CRM API has quirks. Rekomi's integration code was built and audited against the live EmailOctopusdocs, these are the ones you'd otherwise hit yourself.
EmailOctopus uses `FirstName` and `LastName` (PascalCase) for contact fields, uncommon in the API space (most use `first_name`). Rekomi maps automatically; if you query EmailOctopus's API directly later, expect PascalCase.
EmailOctopus has lists but no first-class tags. Segmentation requires either multiple lists or custom-field filtering. Rekomi's tags array is ignored for EmailOctopus; use per-campaign list overrides for segmentation instead.
EmailOctopus returns 409 when the contact already exists in the list. Rekomi treats 409 as a successful sync (the goal was the contact being there). Failed-and-retried syncs are safe to re-fire 100 times.

Can EmailOctopus send transactional email?
EmailOctopus is marketing-only, it doesn't ship a transactional API. For transactional sends (order receipts, password resets), pair EmailOctopus with Amazon SES directly (the same SES they're already on) or with a separate transactional provider like Brevo or Postmark.
What's the minimum EmailOctopus plan?
EmailOctopus Starter ($8/month for 5,000 subscribers + 50,000 emails) is the minimum with API access. The free Connect tier (2,500 subscribers, sends via your own SES account) also has API access, even cheaper if you run your own SES.
