The Affiliatly alternative
that runs payout day for you.
Affiliatly has been on the Shopify App Store since October 2014, and it is still very much alive: a live listing, a Built for Shopify badge, 4.6 stars across 60 reviews, and cheap flat tiers from $16 a month. What its own docs also show is a product where the money work stays yours: the in-app PayPal integration was disabled, bulk paying means uploading a MassPay CSV to your own PayPal account, gift-card codes are the only automated payout method, and no tax-form handling is documented anywhere. Long-time reviewers describe a tool whose feature set has barely moved in years. Rekomi is the same job with the operational layer built in. This page lays out what the price difference actually buys, row by row.
When to pick which.
You want payday to run itself: automatic payouts over Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal across 150+ countries, W-9s collected during onboarding and a year-end 1099-NEC candidates worksheet for your accountant, instead of MassPay CSVs uploaded to your own PayPal and a tax-forms problem nobody handles. You want fraud scoring on every plan, real per-affiliate Shopify discount codes scoped to specific products, refunds that adjust commissions automatically, an AI co-pilot, and a platform that visibly ships. And you want pricing that never counts your affiliates, on any plan.
Your store is small, your budget is tight, and your program is simple. Affiliatly's free plan covers your first 50 tracked orders, $16 a month covers 50 affiliates, and the app carries a Built for Shopify badge with a 4.6-star rating. If you pay two or three affiliates by hand each month anyway, its manual payout flow costs you minutes, not hours, and nothing on this page will save you money by switching.
The full comparison.
How we keep this honest
Every row reflects real product behavior on the date above. We update this page when either product ships material changes. Nothing here is invented to make Rekomi look better.
Which one fits your situation.
Affiliate platforms are not one-size-fits-all. Here is a straight read on which tool wins for each profile we see.
Small store, tight budget, a handful of affiliates you know personally
This is Affiliatly's home turf, plain and simple. Free until 50 tracked orders, then $16 a month for up to 50 affiliates, on a Built for Shopify badged app rated 4.6 stars. If payday is three PayPal sends you would do by hand anyway and you do not need fraud screening or tax paperwork yet, Affiliatly is the cheaper tool, and we would point you there.
Store whose payday has become CSV exports, MassPay uploads, and marking rows paid
Affiliatly's payout flow is structurally manual: its in-app PayPal integration was disabled, bulk payment means exporting a MassPay CSV and uploading it to your own PayPal account, and gift-card codes are the only method that runs itself. Rekomi pays automatically over Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal in 150+ countries, with W-9s collected during onboarding and a 1099-NEC worksheet at year end.
Shopify brand scaling past a hobby program: real revenue, strangers applying, tax exposure
The moment affiliates you have never met start driving real money, you need what Affiliatly has not built: real-time fraud scoring on every event, hold-for-review before payout, automatic refund adjustments, and US tax paperwork prepped. That professional layer is what Rekomi's $29 to $99 flat plans plus 3% of paid payouts actually buys.
Existing Affiliatly program running smoothly at small scale
A working program is an asset and migration is never free, especially without a dedicated importer. Stay until a trigger fires: payout day starts eating hours, a fraud incident slips through, tax season gets uncomfortable, or you need a feature Affiliatly has not shipped. When one does, your affiliate roster exports as CSV and imports into Rekomi in minutes; history takes a little more care.
Where the modern build pays off.
The pillars below summarise the side-by-side above. We keep the read honest by including the cases where Affiliatly still wins today.
Our case.
Operations and momentum. Payday runs itself over Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal in 150+ countries, versus a disabled PayPal integration, MassPay CSVs uploaded to your own account, and gift cards as the only automation. Tax paperwork is prepped, versus not handled at all. Every event is fraud-scored on every plan, versus no documented fraud tooling. Refunds adjust commissions automatically. Pricing never counts your affiliates. And the platform visibly ships: automatic payout rails, a fraud engine, an AI co-pilot, and an embedded Shopify admin app are all recent, while Affiliatly's long-time reviewers describe years without feature evolution.
What both ship.
Stripe-native tracking, refund-aware attribution, signed S2S hooks, and standard commission models. Both tools clear the bar on the table-stakes. The differences live in everything built on top of that foundation.
No spin.
Price and simplicity, genuinely. A free plan up to 50 tracked orders, paid tiers from $16, and no transaction fees or commission cut documented anywhere. A Built for Shopify badge earned on Shopify's highest standards for performance, design, and integration. QR-code tracking that Rekomi does not offer. SKU-level commission rules and auto-advancing tiers that cover most small-program needs. Twelve years of operation and a 4.6-star listing with reviews still landing. For a small store with a personally known roster, that package holds up.
Our straight answer.
Affiliatly is not a trap and it is not abandoned: the listing is live, the badge is real, and at $16 a month it is honestly cheaper than Rekomi will ever be, because Rekomi does not compete on floor price. The question is what happens after the sale is tracked. On Affiliatly, everything after tracking is your job: export the CSV, upload the MassPay file to your own PayPal, mark rows paid, keep your own tax records, and screen your own fraud, on a product reviewers say has barely evolved in years. Rekomi's $29 to $99 flat plans plus 3% of paid payouts buy the professional layer: automatic payouts in 150+ countries, W-9s and a 1099-NEC worksheet, real-time fraud scoring, refund-aware commissions, and active development. If your program is small and personal, stay on Affiliatly with our blessing. If it is becoming a real channel, the manual hours and unpriced risk cost more than the $13 a month you are saving.
Common questions.
How does Affiliatly's pricing compare to Rekomi's?
Affiliatly gates by affiliate count: free up to 50 tracked orders, then $16/mo for 50 affiliates, $24 for 200, $39 for 500, $59 for 1,000, $79 for 2,500, and $129 for unlimited, each with a 14-day trial and no documented transaction fees. Rekomi is $29, $49, or $99 flat with unlimited affiliates on every plan, a 14-day trial, plus 3% of affiliate payouts actually paid (2.5% on Enterprise). At the floor, Affiliatly is genuinely cheaper: $16 versus $29 plus the payout fee. What the difference buys is fraud screening, automatic payouts, tax paperwork, and a platform under active development. Rekomi does not try to win on floor price.
Does Affiliatly have a free plan?
Yes. The free plan costs $0 and covers up to 50 tracked orders, shown on both affiliatly.com and the Shopify listing. It is a real way to test a program at zero cost. Note the limit is tracked orders, not affiliates or months, so a program that starts converting outgrows it quickly. Rekomi has no free plan; every plan starts with a 14-day trial.
How much work is payday on Affiliatly compared to Rekomi?
On Affiliatly, you move the money. Its docs state manual payment methods are not handled by Affiliatly itself: you pay outside the app and then mark earnings as paid. The in-app PayPal integration was disabled, so bulk paying means exporting a MassPay CSV and uploading it to your own PayPal account. The only automated method is gift cards: you paste a pool of codes and Affiliatly emails one when an affiliate hits the minimum. On Rekomi, payouts run automatically over Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal across 150+ countries, on every plan.
Does Affiliatly handle W-9s or 1099s?
No tax-form handling is documented anywhere in Affiliatly's materials: no W-9 or W-8 collection and no 1099 support. If you pay US affiliates $600 or more in a year, that paperwork is entirely on you. Rekomi collects W-9s through Stripe Express onboarding (W-8s on the PayPal rail) and produces a year-end worksheet of 1099-NEC candidates for your accountant. Your brand remains the payer of record; Rekomi preps the paperwork but does not file.
How do I migrate from Affiliatly to Rekomi without a dedicated importer?
Rekomi ships dedicated importers for 21 platforms, but Affiliatly is not one of them, so here is the honest path. In Affiliatly, the Affiliates tab has an Export that produces a CSV of your affiliate data. That file imports through Rekomi's Custom/other CSV migration path, which brings your roster across: names, emails, and codes. Conversion history is separate: for tools without a dedicated importer it comes in through Rekomi's conversion-import API, or Rekomi support will help you map and load it. Roster in minutes, history with a little more care.
Is Affiliatly still maintained?
Yes, and we will say so plainly: as of our 2026-08-20 fact-check the Shopify listing is live with a review posted that same day, the app carries the Built for Shopify badge for meeting Shopify's highest standards, and it holds 4.6 stars across 60 reviews. What the record also shows is slow feature evolution: a long-time Capterra reviewer says the platform has literally not evolved at all over three years, others call the interface stiff and archaic, and structural gaps remain unaddressed in the docs: manual payouts, a disabled PayPal integration, no tax forms, no fraud tooling. Maintained, yes. Moving, not visibly.
What should I check about cookie and attribution windows before switching?
Affiliatly's cookie defaults to 7 days, configurable from 1 to 365 days, with per-affiliate overrides. Many programs never touch that setting, and 7 days is short against the category norm of 30 to 90. When you move, check what your program actually ran on, then set Rekomi's attribution window to match or improve it deliberately. If you silently jump from a 7-day window to a longer one, month-over-month numbers will not be comparable, and your affiliates will notice the change in their favor before you do. Decide it on purpose and tell them.
Alive is not the same as moving.
Let us be precise, because the difference matters. Affiliatly is not a dead app: the Shopify listing is live, the Built for Shopify badge is displayed, and five-star reviews were still landing on the day we fact-checked this page. The complaint in its reviews is about pace, not abandonment. Here is what each side's recent record actually shows.
- On the Shopify App Store since October 2014; listing live, Built for Shopify badged, 4.6 stars across 60 reviews
- Long-time Capterra reviewer: the platform "has literally not evolved at all" over three years
- Other reviewers: "the interface so stiff", "a bit archaic, just needs a bit of a facelift"
- Structural gaps still in the docs: manual money movement, in-app PayPal integration disabled, no tax forms, no fraud tooling
- The famous 90-day trial is gone; current trial is 14 days
- Automatic payout rails: Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal across 150+ countries
- Real-time fraud engine on every plan: device fingerprinting, proxy, VPN, datacenter, and bot detection with hold-for-review
- AI co-pilot built on Claude, on every plan
- Native Shopify app live on the App Store: the whole program runs embedded in the Shopify admin, billed through Shopify
- 21-source migration importer suite, full API and export on every plan
Why trajectory matters more than today's feature table: an affiliate platform holds your revenue attribution and your payout obligations for years. The question is not only what each product does today, but what each will do about the next browser change, the next payout rail, the next tax season. One of these products has a visible answer.
What payout day actually takes, on each.
Affiliatly never holds funds; every payment except gift-card codes is money you move yourself, then record. Rekomi runs the money movement. Here is each month, step by step, from the two products' own documentation.
- Review who cleared the minimum payout you configured
- Export the PayPal MassPay CSV (the in-app PayPal integration was disabled)
- Log into your own PayPal account and upload the file
- Pay any bank-transfer, Venmo, Payoneer, or crypto affiliates one by one, outside the app
- Return to Affiliatly and mark each affiliate's earnings as paid
- Keep your own records for tax season: no W-9s, no 1099 support
The one exception: paste a pool of gift-card codes and Affiliatly emails one automatically when an affiliate hits the minimum. Store credit is the only thing that pays itself.
- Payouts run automatically on schedule over Stripe Express, bank deposits, and PayPal, in 150+ countries
- Fraud-flagged conversions were already held for your review before they became payable
- Refunded orders, full or partial, already adjusted the commissions down
- W-9s were collected during Stripe Express onboarding (W-8s on the PayPal rail)
- At year end, export the 1099-NEC candidates worksheet for your accountant
Your brand stays the payer of record and files through your accountant; Rekomi preps the paperwork. The 3% payout fee applies only to commissions actually paid.
Switching from Affiliatly, honestly.
No dedicated Affiliatly importer exists in Rekomi's 21-source suite, so we will not promise a one-click move. Here is the real path: your roster comes across in minutes via CSV, and your conversion history comes in through the API or with our help.
- Roster: minutes. In Affiliatly, the Affiliates tab's Export produces a CSV of your affiliate data. Import it through Rekomi's Custom/other CSV migration path and your roster is across: names, emails, and codes.
- History: API or support. The roster path does not carry conversion history. For tools without a dedicated importer, history comes in through Rekomi's conversion-import API, or Rekomi support will help you map Affiliatly's earnings and stats exports and load them. Imported records settle as history; nothing becomes payable without your explicit authorization.
- Settle outstanding balances first. Run one final Affiliatly payday before cutover so affiliates start on Rekomi at zero owed, then the first automatic payout runs clean.
- The settings gotcha: your cookie window.Affiliatly defaults to a 7-day cookie, configurable 1 to 365 days with per-affiliate overrides. Check what your program actually ran on and set Rekomi's attribution window deliberately: matching keeps your numbers comparable, extending is a change your affiliates will notice in their favor. Either is fine; do it on purpose.
